What is it?
What is it...
is a list of answers to some frequently asked questions...
what is it... that causes pain?
my osteopath said... pain maybe from trauma to an area or referred from another area.
what is it... pain?
my osteopath said... pain is an unpleasant physical sensation as a
result of dis-ease in the body.
what is it... disease?
my osteopath said... is a medical term for a condition in humans.
what is it... dis-ease and why do you refer to dis-ease using a hyphen?
my osteopath said... dis-ease in naturopathy is using the medical
term 'disease' but indicating the body is not at ease.
what is
it... when the body is unable to function correctly?
my osteopath
said... this is often referred to as disease, and can be caused from poor
nutrition, structural changes or emotional states.
what is
it... poor nutrition?
my osteopath said... is a result of
deficiency in vital nutrients (most often Zinc, Magnesium and Pyridoxal
5-Phosphate - activated Vitamin B6) from the inability of your body
to digest and absorb them from your food. The body is not nourished
what is
it... vital nutrients?
my osteopath said... nutrients are needed by the body to function,
some can be made and others need to be taken in the food we eat. These are
often called Essential.
what is
it... essential nutrients?
my osteopath said... essential nutrients need to be eaten regularly
in the normal daily intake of food. All food is vital and an often
forgotten nutrient is water.
what is
it... the actual vital nutrients?
my osteopath said... as already stated all nutrients are vital but
from experience it is becomming increasingly obvious there are three
main deficiencies.
what is
it... these three main nutrients?
my osteopath said... the three most recommended nutrients are Magnesium,
Zinc and Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate (also known as P5P - the activated
form of Vitamin B6).
what is it... stops me absorbing
the vital nutrients?
my osteopath said... many factors can
influence absorption but taking it back to basics, for better health
your body needs to be balanced with the three sides of the Triangle
of Health working
together. The body is not nourished.
what is
it... if I am not nourished?
my osteopath said... According to Professor Bruce Ames, (professor
of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California,
Berkeley, and senior scientist at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute)
"energy rich but nutrient poor diets will create a
state that drives us to eat more to obtain adequate nutrients. In
other words, the overweight
and obese are constantly hungry because they are deficient in key
nutrients". In other words under nourished.
what is it... the Triangle of Health?
my
osteopath said... good health can be thought of as a three sided
triangle, structural, chemical and mental, with each side working in
harmony.
what is it... if the chemical side is not working efficiently?
my osteopath said... all food is a chemical and your body is a
chemical factory, and if some of the ingredients are missing your body
will
not function as well as it possibly could.
what is it... chemically that
effects me structurally?
my osteopath said... this is very
difficult to answer because the body is so complex but for example,
if you were deficient in vitamin C you may experience laxity in
your joints causing pain
and discomfort.
what is it... you are saying is I should just
take Vitamin C?
my osteopath said... no the importance and
significance of a balanced food intake must be a priority. This
is where AK can help in identifying missing nutrients from your
diet.
what is
it...is that all?
my osteopath said...at present this page is
being constantly updated, if you have any suggestions then please
let my Osteopath know...thank you
