Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology, also known as AK.

It is an excellent diagnostic tool, it is non invasive and can be beneficial for a variety of symptoms and conditions. AK is taught to medical professionals only, Doctors, Dentists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors and should not be confused with 'kinesiology' muscle testing as practiced by non medically qualified persons.

It is another tool in the 'armoury' in helping determine the reason for dis-ease.

Here are a few examples of conditions where AK has been beneficial...

* Allergies

* Athritic conditions

* Asthma

* Bloating and flatulence

* Eczema

* Irritable Bowel

* Learning Difficulties

* Skin Disorders

* Frozen or stiff shoulders

The method of AK is primarily concerned with neuromuscular function (the relationship between muscles and nerve supply) and how it relates to the regulation of structural, chemical and mental physiology.

It uses the principle that the body is a self-maintaining, self-correcting mechanism. George H. Goodhart Jr D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) introduced manual muscle testing to evaluate body function in 1964. Since then, research into and knowledge of AK has expanded considerably, providing many additional dimensions to the diagnosis of bodily dysfunction.

Health is composed of structural, chemical and mental factors: which must be equally balanced producing the 'triangle of health'.

When a person has ill health, at least one of these factors is involved and often two, or all three.

The principle of AK is to analyse and check all three factors and treat any or all that are disrupted. It is imperative in the treatment of this person that all three aspects are analysed and balanced in order to restore the 'triangle of health', and subsequently the person to complete wellbeing.

Colour, as a non invasive way into the mechanism and function of the body, is used to 'challenge' a strong muscle. Coloured acetates, Red, Green and Blue at specific frequencies of the spectrum, are used one at a time. One colour will be positive and make a strong muscle go weak. For each colour there is a complementary colour and by using this colour while testing helps identify for many symptoms.
